Everyone, no matter how skilled or talented they are, can learn a few new tricks. If you are truly interested in improving your craft then you are always on the hunt for advice, tips and teachings from others.

As a writer, I am always looking to learn. I read a lot. I read books about writing and improving my craft, but I also read other books that have nothing to do with the techniques of my craft. I love to read sci-fi, fantasy and Young Adult fiction. I also love to listen to audio books, some of my favorites have been Tina Fey’s Bossy Pants and Amy Poehler’s Yes, Please. I also score the Internet for blog posts and articles about writing. The Guardian has a great series from some of the best writers. It is an older series but well worth looking at. Here is a great article on Margaret Atwood and her rules for writers.
