March Pitch & Post Ideas

There are lots of changes that happen in March. Spring is right around the corner, and that’s a big deal for so many of us who live in areas where we get snow. I can tell you I am eager to welcome warmer days that’s for sure.

International Women’s Day (Women’s History Month U.S) – International Women’s Day falls on March 8. This is a great opportunity to talk about the journey as a female entrepreneur or highlight products and services that help women.

Daylight Savings Time – Daylight savings begins Sunday, March 14. The days get longer ( thank goodness) but of course, we lose an hour of sleep. This is a great pitch hook if you are in the sleep space.

World Sleep Day March 12 is World Sleep Day. It seeks to raise awareness about the importance of sleep. It aims to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society by encouraging better prevention and management of sleep disorders. It was established in 2008 by the World Sleep Society.

The first day of spring – The spring equinox falls on March 20 and that is something to celebrate after a long, cold winter. This could be a great opportunity to pitch spring fashion trends, spring beauty products or routines, or new spring fitness routines. Spring is often considered a time of renewal so any pitches that focus on renewal fit with this time of year.

International Day for the Elimination of Racial DiscriminationMarch 21 is International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It seeks to abolish racism and xenophobia. This day serves as a remembrance of the Sharpeville massacre in South Africa in 1960. On this day Police opened fire at protestors during a peaceful demonstration against apartheid pass laws. The result was 69 dead and hundreds injured.

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was established in 1966 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on March 21st in honor of those killed in the Sharpeville massacre.

International Transgender Day of Visibility – this day is all about raising awareness about the work that is still needed to save trans lives. This day aims to recognize the accomplishments and achievements of transgender and non-conforming people. The Trans Student Educational Resources website emphasizes that this day is one for empowerment and acknowledgment.

International Transgender Day of Visibility was established in 2010 by the head of Transgender Michigan, Rachel Crandall. Crandall founded the day to celebrate the trans community and transgender people’s successes. This day is observed annually on March 31st.
